Appoint a committee to set up guidelines for the team, make a list of most pressing issues, create consequences for non-compliancy, have a procedure to meet compliancy requirements, and set up a rewards/incentive program.
The committee should have representatives from the following:
- Upper management
- Group home managers
- Group home support staff
- Finances
Find out what areas are causing the most problems. Prioritize the list. The areas of greatest non-compliancy often are from these areas:
- Stealing from company and/or residents
- Schedule adherence
- Client care
- Use of company car
Create consequences. If the company doesn’t care enough to put an end to non-compliance, the staff that works in group homes won’t care either. Have consequences so everyone knows the company is serious about protecting their own assets and the residents’ assets.
When a non-compliancy is discovered, there should be a systematic procedure so that compliancy requirements can be met.
Give your ethical, compliant, prompt, and dependable group home support staff the recognition they deserve. The QC/LP team is the perfect choice to be in charge of recognition and incentives.
