I think the key to com logs is in the "com"! They are all about communication, so we need to make sure that all the right people read them as soon as possible. The other good think about doing this is that the more people read notes, the more people take care about what they are reading.

Yes odour are subjective and dont really harm people, the odour is more of a nuisance. The addition of airfresheners will worsen the problem especially for hyper sensitive people

I received my Article 9 training through the company I work for. Companies that provide provide services for DDD (Department of Developmental Disabilities)are required to have all employees that are working with clients that receive DDD benefits to have the training. Most companies provide the training. The training may also be available through the state.

The class I attended was a few hours and there was a written test that needed to be passed at the end of the training class.

Hi there,

I am wondering what kind of credentials are needed to certify someone in article 9?

What is the process? Where can you get training?

Thanks.

Thank you!

I appreciate your added information. I did need to edit your comment with a caution since your method is not FDA approved. There are FDA approved vegetable washes available and group homes would need to use those to clean their vegetables.

I enjoyed visiting your blog, Granny Miller!

The above is all good and sensible advice.

But I would suggest that just rising fruits and vegetables under running water may not be enough.

Especially leafy green vegetables.

CAUTION FROM JAN'S GROUP HOME SUPPORT-THIS METHOD IS NOT FDA APPROVED AND IS NOT ALLOWED IN LICENSED GROUP HOMES

I recommend washing most fresh produce that you did not grow yourself, in a sink of very cold water to which a 1/2 teaspoon of Clorox type liquid bleach has been added.
Drain the sink.
And then rise the produce very well and drain upon a clean towel.

Sadly the decline of American Agriculture has made eating a meal in the US a very risky proposition indeed.

Since the US has become part of the 3rd World in terms of Food Safety and Food Borne Illness, the only sensible thing to do is to treat all Fruit & Vegetable as they are treated in the 3rd World.

I'm not sure if the florescent bulbs that are adapted to fit lamps that use regular light bulb have the same problems or not. I will check into that, because it would be important to know for the group home residents who have autism or ADHD.

Thank you bringing up that great point! Offices that have group home residents visit should stay on top of changing their florescent bulbs.
EDIT Found this information on CFL (compact florescent bulbs.

Regarding flourescent lights: I am aware these are a better option, ecologically; but many people are bothered by them--especially people who have autism or ADHD. It would be best to find out whether you are likely to have anyone with auditory or visual sensitivity before installing them... If you must install them, they should be replaced often, since old flourescent bulbs begin to flicker and buzz long before most people notice, and this can be very distracting, annoying, or even painful to those who do notice.
